Surroundings of Cetviny/Zettwing
Tichá/Oppolz: Remains of the Gothic fort later used for a local brewery. The fort is today privately owned and in a poor condition.
Pohoří na Šumavě/Buchers Destroyed village in the most Southern edge of the Southern Bohemia. It gained a wide spread reputation for its locally produced paintings on glass. In 1930 it counted 558 residents. Its German population was, similarly to Cetviny/Zettwing, expatriated after the war, however, new residents were brought in and the place was inhabited until the beginning of the 70-ies. It has had a church which collapsed on May 30, 1999. Nowadays this former village is administered from the nearby Pohorska Ves. Four new houses have been constructed there recently.
Ponds To be able to leverage the forests in the region a local system of channels to flow the woods was developed. Five ponds were made part of that system: Kapelunk, Pohorský, Zlatá Ktiš, Huťský a Uhlišťský. Zlatá Ktiš

Nové Hrady/Gratzen Traditional center of Novohradské mountains with recently restored castle and monastery. In the valley located directly underneath the town, there is a natural preserve Theresia Valley, a park with numerous foreign trees and an artificial waterfall established in 18th century by Theresia Buquoy. On one edge of the park, there is a mediaveal fortress Cuknštejn established in 1490.
Dobrá voda/Brünnl Traditional pilgrim place with a Baroque Virgin Mary church and a healing water The church is a magnificent building which can be seen from far away.
